Magna: Best Kept Secret of the Mission

This place is amazing! My companion Elder Castillo is an awesome dude! He is from the Sacramento area (Auburn). Everyone asks us where we are from and we both say California so it is pretty chill. He likes to play sports again and we get along extremely well. This is going to be an awesome transfer! We are covering a stake and it is a lot of work.

It was a lot of biking until I got a flat and then it was a lot of walking. We are picking up where the previous missionaries left off. This past week has been mostly us just finding people who have been taught and introducing ourselves. We live in the basement of a house owned by a young single adult dude named Dan.

"Dan, Dan, the Landlord Man. If he can't do it, no one can."

Basically it is a lot of fun living here. We still stay on task though I promise. We have to rely on the senior couples in the area heavily because we are covering such a large area we can’t even do follow up lessons with the people we baptize anymore. This week was slightly hectic but we will get the hang of it and be more productive next week instead of just meeting people.

We had a convert baptism that we barely knew because the previous missionaries had taught her. We were able to meet with her in order to schedule an interview and her baptism went smoothly. President Palmer showed up again and he remembered me from the last baptism that he went to. All I know is that even when things seem hopeless and crazy and you don’t know anyone in the area and you go down four dead ends in one day, if you work hard the Lord will bless you.
